My name is Fernando Hoyos, and I am an EU-accredited conference interpreter and translator. I am a member of AIIC, the International Association of Conference Interpreters, and provide high-quality and reliable conference interpreting services to a wide range of customers, including private clients and high-level governmental and international organisations. I work with Spanish, English, German, French and Italian on a daily basis.
I obtained my degree in conference interpreting and translation in 2008 at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid with English, German and French as my working combination. In 2009 I was the beneficiary of a grant by the Directorate-General of the European Commission for Conference Interpreting (DG-SCIC) to study a European Master in Conference Interpreting at the Universidad de La Laguna.
In 2012, I passed the interinstitutional accreditation tests of the European Commission, European Parliament and European Court of Justice. As of that year, I am part of their Joint List of Accredited Conference Interpreters and provide them with the high-quality interpreting services they require whenever they need them.
I also have four years of experience in political communication and media relations: from 2011 to 2014 I was Head of Communication for a political group in the Madrid City Hall; and from 2014 to 2015 I was the Press Officer and Head of Communication for a Spanish MEP at the European Parliament.
My education and professional experience have provided me with excellent knowledge on handling sensible information and confidential documents. I have high resilience when dealing with stress situations and work well under pressure, be it to meet tight deadlines or to manage whichever crises may arise.
